Struck by how we capture billions of fleeting moments yet only a fraction are intended to have lasting impact, Beaven was motivated to create a physical archive for the bicentennial of Ghent, NY where he lives. Drawing on a combination of people and their environments, he spent a year making 276 portraits, mostly of strangers, creating a narrative based on the community. A box of prints is now stored at the town hall and a book of the portraits was published by
Daylight Books in 2020.
